USMEF representative Monty Brown met earlier this month with several meat processing companies in Croatia to explore export options for increased U.S. red meat products.
Brown’s report details potential opportunities he identified in the nation of 4.5 million. The International Monetary Fund has classified Croatia as an emerging and developing economy, and the World Bank identified it as a high income economy. With a Mediterranean climate and more than a thousand islands along the shore of the Adriatic Sea, Croatia ranks as the 18th most popular tourist destination worldwide.
Croatia is expected to join the European Union on July 1, 2013.
