U.S. red meat exporters will be able to network with buyers and discuss trade opportunities at USMEF’s South Africa Seminar and Buyers Reception, scheduled for Aug. 18 in Johannesburg.

Several importers from South Africa have confirmed their attendance, along with buyers from Nigeria and the Congo.

“This event offers an opportunity to not only build relationships, it also provides an education for buyers in South Africa and will help reacquaint them with high-quality U.S. beef and pork,” said Dan Halstrom, USMEF senior vice president for marketing. “The interest level has been very, very high.”

The day before the event, USMEF will lead a tour of the Johannesburg area to explore modern retail and traditional wholesale markets. USMEF Technical Services Manager Cheyenne McEndaffer will also be at the seminar to help answer questions about import requirements for U.S. beef and pork entering South Africa.
