
U.S. beef exports for the week of April 18-24 totaled 11,900 metric tons (mt), down 3 percent from the previous four-week average. Exports were mainly for Japan (3,700 mt, +3 percent), Hong Kong (2,200 mt, -6 percent), Mexico (1,900 mt, -10 percent), South Korea (1,500 mt, -23 percent), Canada (1,000 mt, +18 percent) and Taiwan (520 mt, -12 percent).

Beef net sales of 11,400 mt were down 37 percent from the previous four-week average, but this followed three consecutive weeks of large volumes. Sales were mainly reported for Japan (6,100 mt, +18 percent), Mexico (1,500 mt, -59 percent), Korea (1,300 mt, -59 percent), Canada (1,100 mt, +13 percent), Taiwan (700 mt, -13 percent), and Hong Kong (330 mt, -87 percent).
U.S. pork exports totaled 9,100 mt, down 16 percent from the previous four-week average. Exports were mainly for Mexico (3,500 mt), Japan (1,300 mt), Korea (1,300 mt), Canada (1,100 mt) and Hong Kong (600 MT).
Pork net sales of 9,800 mt were down 5 percent from the previous four-week average and were mainly reported for Mexico (3,800 mt), Japan (1,100 mt), Honduras (800 mt), Australia (800 mt) and Korea (700 mt).
