TITLE: | Returning To Commercially Viable Beef Trade |
WHEREAS, | The U.S. Beef Industry produces safe and wholesome beef products for its global consumers; and |
WHEREAS, | The U.S. Beef Industry is adversely impacted economically by trade disruption; and |
WHEREAS, | The U.S. Beef Industry is committed to compliance with trade terms; and |
WHEREAS, | The current terms of trade regarding product tolerances are onerous, unduly difficult to comply with and the primary reason for trade disruption, |
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, | That USMEF support industry partners, and work with government agencies to enact changes to trade terms and protocol that will allow commercially viable trade to occur as soon as possible; and |
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, | That USMEF provides industry partners with updates on potential improvements to agreements/protocol; works closely with exporters and industry partners to ensure that the actual terms of trade meet industry expectations; and provides recommendations back to industry whenever necessary. |
