Regulatory Changes Announced Regarding Trade with Cuba


This week the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Commerce announced an initial round of regulatory changes to reflect reestablishment of diplomatic relations with Cuba, as announced by the White House last month.

These changes, which focus on trade, banking, travel and remittances, took effect immediately upon publication in the Jan. 16 Federal Register:
