USMEF's Erin Borror Offers 2023 Export Outlook in BEEF Magazine

Erin Borror, USMEF vice president for economic analysis, prepared a 2023 global beef export outlook for the January/February edition of BEEF Magazine.
Borror highlights the outstanding performance of U.S. beef exports in 2022, which will reach nearly $12 billion in value when year-end data is available. Growth was driven largely by exceptional demand at retail, as the foodservice sector's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing in many countries - especially in Asia. A further rebound in foodservice demand should provide a boost for exports in 2023, though the U.S. industry will face significant supply constraints in the coming year as a result of lower beef production.
