Retail Product Sampling Returns in Korea, Taiwan

Published: May 19, 2022

On April 28, the South Korean government began allowing food tasting events in department stores and large retail stores. Most retailers now allow tasting samples and USMEF-Korea immediately added sampling to U.S. beef and pork promotions at selected retail outlets.

U.S. beef sampling promotions are funded by the Beef Checkoff Program, Nebraska Beef Council, Iowa Beef Industry Council and Texas Beef Council. U.S. pork sampling promotions are funded by Indiana Soybean Alliance & Indiana Corn Marketing Council.

USMEF-Taiwan is also able to offer tasting samples at retail promotions. In Japan, the government has removed restrictions on providing product samples but retailers do not yet allow it.

Consumers in South Korea and Taiwan can once again enjoy U.S. beef and pork samples at retail outlets
