On June 11, the House of Representatives began consideration of the FY 2015 Agriculture Appropriations bill, H.R. 4800. The bill currently includes full funding of $200 million for the Market Access Program (MAP) and $34.5 million for the Foreign Market Development (FMD) Program, as authorized by the five-year farm bill passed earlier this year.
While several amendments were considered on June 11, none were related to MAP or FMD funding. No action was taken on H.R. 4800, and the House majority leader has announced it will not be on the floor next week. The House is expected to resume debate on the bill later this summer.
