Newly elected USMEF Chairman Mark Jagels conducted a steady stream of radio and television interviews Thursday – including several live segments – with reporters attending the annual “Trade Talk” exhibition conducted by the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB). The event is held in Kansas City as part of NAFB’s annual convention.

Jagels covered a wide range of topics, including the importance of passing a new farm bill, efforts to improve market access for U.S. beef, pork and lamb in many key destinations and the potential benefits of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership agreements.

“Past USMEF chairmen had told me that Trade Talk would be a great experience, but it really exceeded my expectations,” Jagels said. “I can’t imagine a better way to communicate the benefits of red meat exports to producers all over the country.”
