TTIP Round Concludes in Miami

The United States and the European Union held their 11th round of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations this week in Miami, Florida. In a closing press conference on Friday, chief U.S. negotiator Dan Mullaney praised the level of progress made in this round of talks, but emphasized that the pace will need to accelerate if TTIP negotiations are to be concluded by the end of President Obama’s term.

In their remarks to reporters, Mullaney and his EU counterpart, Ignacio Garcia-Bercero, offered few details on agricultural trade. Two specific areas of emphasis for the next round of negotiations, which is likely to be in February, are government purchases of goods and services and market access for financial services.
