On Oct. 19, USMEF was advised by USDA that China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) plans to reinstate eligibility for six U.S. pork packing plants and eight U.S. cold storage facilities. It is important to note, however, that plants are not cleared to begin shipments to China until the FSIS Export Library is updated.
While the full list of these facilities has not been announced, the Export Library for China was updated on Oct. 23 to reflect reinstatement of two processing plants, with an effective production date of Oct. 16, 2015.
Exporters should note that updates were also made to the Ractopamine Control Program section of the Export Library for China. If you have questions about any of these changes, please contact Travis Arp or call 303-623-6328.
