Media Registration Now Open for USMEF Strategic Planning Conference

Registration is open for reporters and editors attending the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Strategic Planning Conference, which will be held Nov. 2-4 in Carlsbad, California. All meetings are at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, with a USMEF group rate available through Oct. 7.

The conference registration fee is waived for working media, so to register please email Joe Schuele, USMEF vice president of communications, or call him at 303-226-7309 with your contact information and the name and address of your news outlet.

Key speakers at the conference will include:

Scott Aughenbaugh, deputy director of strategic futures at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Aughenbaugh will discuss demographics, resource management, computing, data/information growth, social media, effects of economic integration and emerging security challenges – critical information used to forecast global trends.

Jim McKenna, president and CEO of the Pacific Maritime Association.

McKenna will cover current strategies to ensure smooth and efficient West Coast port operations and other issues impacting the shipping industry.

USMEF’s regular press conference/media conference call will be held Thursday, Nov. 3 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time (6:30 a.m. local time). Call-in details will be distributed in advance.
