USMEF Statement on Completion of Trans-Pacific Partnership Negotiations

This morning, trade ministers from the 12 participating Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) countries – the United States, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam – announced the conclusion of their negotiations. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has posted a brief summary of the agreement on its website. USMEF thanks USTR and other U.S. officials for their tireless efforts to complete these complex and difficult negotiations. We look forward to examining the agreement's red meat trade provisions and discussing them in detail with USMEF members.
