USMEF Economist Erin Borror

USMEF economist Erin Borror was the featured speaker on a webinar conducted last week by The Beef, an industry blog hosted by Consolidated Beef Producers.

Speaking to an online audience of at least 80 participants, Borror covered major factors expected to impact U.S. beef exports in the year ahead, including global trends in beef demand and production, West Coast port congestion, exchange rates and competitors’ free trade agreements. Slides from the webinar are now available online.

“We were thrilled with the response to our webinar,” said Bruce Cobb, general manager of Consolidated Beef Producers. “Erin has an outstanding command of what’s going on in the marketplace and was able to provide a clear understanding of what we’re facing in the export business on a wide range of topics. She is a tremendous resource for the beef industry.”

Consolidated Beef Producers hopes to sponsor future educational seminars like this one to connect with cattle producers and generate discussion of key issues affecting the industry. The Beef launched in May 2014 and is available via a free subscription. Visit www.thebeefread.com for more information.
