USMEF Discusses Key Trade Issues at Farm Broadcasting Convention

Published: Nov 09, 2018

USMEF Chair-elect Cevin Jones spoke with numerous agricultural radio and television reporters at the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) Convention, held Nov. 8 in Kansas City. The annual “NAFB Trade Talk” event is an excellent opportunity for USMEF to discuss year-to-date export results for U.S. pork, beef and lamb, as well as key issues such as current and upcoming trade negotiations, market access barriers for U.S. red meat and the importance of Congress taking swift action on a new farm bill.

This was the first NAFB Trade Talk for Jones, a cattle feeder from Eden, Idaho.

“I was really impressed with the large turnout, which gave us a chance to talk to reporters from nearly every region of the country,” Jones said. “They asked well-informed questions and clearly understand the importance of red meat trade.”

Jones was accompanied by Joe Schuele, USMEF vice president of communications.
