Still Time to Register for USMEF Strategic Planning Conference

Published: Sep 28, 2016

There is still time to register for the USMEF's 40th Anniversary and Strategic Planning Conference, scheduled for Nov. 2-4 in Carlsbad, California. The conference is an ideal opportunity to get an international view on issues of timely importance to the U.S. red meat industry.

Key speakers include:

  • Scott Aughenbaugh, deputy director of strategic futures at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
  • Aughenbaugh will discuss demographics, resource management, computing, data/information growth, social media, effects of economic integration and emerging security challenges – critical information used to forecast global trends.

  • Jim McKenna, president and CEO of the Pacific Maritime Association.
  • McKenna will cover current strategies to ensure smooth and efficient West Coast port operations and other issues impacting the shipping industry.

The agenda is a unique mix of reports from the most vital U.S. beef, pork and lamb markets, committee meetings, and, of course, election of USMEF officers.

The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, approximately 30 miles north of San Diego, sits atop a high ridge on the shore of Batiquitos Lagoon, a beautiful wildlife sanctuary overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Amenities of the hotel include a spa, an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course, swimming pools and numerous restaurant options. It is also just a quick, 15-minute drive to the quaint beachside towns of Carlsbad and Encinitas.

We look forward to seeing you in Carlsbad to celebrate this milestone. Register now!
