On the upcoming episode of NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen, USMEF Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Dan Halstrom will discuss the final 2012 beef export results, recent announcements of expanded access for U.S. beef in Japan and Hong Kong and a possible upgrade in the BSE risk classification for the United States.

Halstrom will also touch on a key statistic from 2012 – beef export value per head of fed slaughter. While last year’s beef export volume was lower than in 2011, per-head export value reached new heights – nearly $217 for the year and a monthly record of $246 in December. Total beef export value also set a new annual record of $5.51 billion.

The program will air Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time on RFD-TV, which is available on DirecTV (channel 345), DISH Network (channel 231) and many local cable systems. Episodes repeat on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. (all times Eastern).
