More U.S. Beef Offal Items Now Eligible for Japan

Effective April 1, the list of beef products eligible for export to Japan was expanded to include scalded small intestines, scalded stomachs and scalded blood vessels (including aortas).

Exporters serving Japan are reminded that they must update their eligible product lists to reflect these additions. Companies already approved for the quality systems assessment (QSA) program for Japan may add these items to their product list without an additional audit. If your company is not approved for the QSA program for Japan, a desk audit and on-site audit are required. Please submit changes to QAD.AuditService@ams.usda.gov for review.
