Government Shutdown Averted – for Now

On Sept. 30, a temporary spending measure (H.R. 719) was approved by the House of Representatives that keeps the federal government operating through Dec. 11. The bill was later approved by President Obama. This postponed concerns of a federal government shutdown for at least the next 11 weeks.
