Former Chairman Baxter Freese dies at 87
Former USMEF Chairman (1978-1980) Baxter Freese has died in Iowa at the age of 87. A friend and supporter of USMEF since its inception, Baxter Freese counted as his most significant contribution to U.S. agriculture that he was one of industry leaders behind the 1976 formation of the federation. In 1991, USMEF presented him with its first Distinguished Service Award.
