The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee funded a Taiwan beef trade team’s visit to the United States next month, which includes attendance at the USMEF Board of Directors Meeting & Product Showcase. Colorado Corn Executive Director Mark Sponsler presented a check for $15,000 to USMEF at the Colorado Livestock Association’s annual meeting.

The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee is a longtime USMEF supporter which has now contributed $79,000 to USMEF. In presenting the check, Sponsler highlighted Colorado Corn’s strong working relationship with the state’s livestock industry, the principal buyer of U.S. corn. In excess of 40 percent of domestic corn production is turned into livestock feed — more than double the percentage of the next largest buyer. Sponsler also noted the vital role exports play for corn producers and the livestock industry in Colorado, with beef being the state’s No. 1 agricultural export.
