Beef Shipments Lower this Week under EU Duty-free Quota

Shipments entering the European Union under the duty-free high-quality beef quota slowed this week after the quarterly quota allocation reached its critical phase (90 percent utilization). The quarterly allocation had been on pace to reach its full capacity of 12,233 metric tons (mt) this week, but as of Dec. 18 the tonnage used was 11,567 mt with another 50 mt awaiting clearance. The projected date for reaching full capacity is now Dec. 23.

If you have questions or concerns about shipments en route or awaiting clearance, please email Thad Lively or John Brook or call 303-623-6328.
