The upcoming edition of NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen, which airs Tuesday, Oct. 1, will feature a discussion of the remarkable growth of U.S. beef exports to Central and South America. The segment will also recap the successful three-year history of the USMEF Latin American Showcase, including footage from the July 2013 event held in Antigua, Guatemala.

Dan Halstrom, USMEF senior vice president for marketing and communications, joins host Kevin Ochsner to explain the wide range of U.S. beef muscle cuts and variety meats performing well in markets such as Chile, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica. Through July, this year’s beef exports to the Central-South America region were up 27 percent in volume (25,963 metric tons) from a year ago and were 16 percent higher in value ($88 million).
