Promising Future For U.S. Pork In Markets Worldwide

Hugh Dorminy, from Russellville, Ark., serves as U.S. Meat Export Federation Pork Committee chair and is a former National Pork Board president. Recently he talked about how 15 years of growth in U.S. pork exports has fueled industry growth and increased profitability.

Cut #1 :10 – “We’ve had 15… …our profitability.”

Dorminy says USMEF is a key to the success of U.S. pork exports.

Cut #2 :14 – “The big advantage… …fill that demand.”

The future looks bright for U.S. pork exports. As worldwide economies continue to grow, so will the demand for U.S. pork, says Dorminy.

Cut # 3 :17 – “Well, I think… …and sell more pork”

Recent growth in Mexico and South Korea has helped the U.S. pork industry. Dorminy says it is time to look for new emerging markets.

Cut #4 :10 – “Well, recently… …of that yet.”

The U.S. Meat Export Federation is the trade association responsible for developing international markets for the U.S. red meat industry and is funded by USDA, exporting companies, and the beef, pork, lamb, corn, sorghum and soybean checkoff programs.
